Yes, this is it: The house of your dreams. You can have 1360sf of beauty for only $2926. If you'd like oak throughout, add an additional $116.55. (The snow is free.)
I think I'll go and order one right now. I might be able to get the cash discount if I cut down in other areas.

Good morning! Thanks for sharing this one, too. I could live in this house. Easily. It's a beauty. Where I live, I would have to switch the porch and sun room, but I doubt that is a huge problem. :)
I agree! According to their catalog, fitting the pieces together to suit your needs can be arranged! Too bad they don't exist anymore. . . at those prices. . .
At those prices - well, yes and no. If everything was relevant to those times, then no. :)
The fact that the mortgage is for only TWO years instead of THIRTY is interesting.
I am conjecturing that our house prices are highly inflated thanks to that 30 yr mortgage.
I should do some research when I get a chance!
That would be interesting to compare prices. But, really, I think the prices were probably high then, too. Not many people could afford to own their own home.
Now I'm intrigued. I'll see what I can find out in the next few days.
I still wonder about the disparity of years for the mortgage. I assume they increased the years to MAKE houses more "affordable" but I think it may have also increased the need for two incomes, etc.
Yep, gotta do some research--gotta know!
I love the house . I think a lot of people were home owners but houses were small. My dad built on (large family) when they bought the house it was only three rooms, but he grew up in a 20 room Victorian with a porch on three sides. We have a piece of gingerbread from the porch we turned into a shelf (sadly it is all that's left. We saved it for memories.)
We have a few houses similar to this in the older nice part of town here in the mid-west even with the recession they start at around $250.or $350.so what is that in comparison to 2,900
Mrs. Tailleur--I agree. The big mortgage comes with a BIG house. Small houses then, and now, are more affordable. A 20-room Victorian would be amazing, though!!
That's really cool about the gingerbread! That's the way to carry on a memory. Do you have a picture of the house framed to put on the wall or on the shelf?
In the next couple of weeks I am definitely going to do a little research for cost comparisons.
I'm intrigued now.
