A Vegetable Poll

I've heard that tomatoes are the number one home-grown crop. Perhaps that's true.

I thought I'd do a scientific poll of the readers of my blog to see if we match that statistic--or not.

On the sidebar is a poll. If you could grow ONLY ONE vegetable, what would it be? If your choice is not on my list, please leave a comment telling me what YOUR vegetable "du jardin" would be.

I'll just go ahead and let you know that the adults in our family would fit the statistic 100%. The child, however, would vote "no vegetables."

That's why he doesn't get a vote.

Even here in northern Montana we can grow a fair variety of vegetables. It would be difficult to choose, but I would likely choose to grow green beans if I could only choose one vegetable to grow.

After tomatoes it would be onions -- I use those for so many meals.

I think I'd grow sweet corn. It's super easy and super yummy

If I had to choose JUST ONE, I'd grow potatoes! What a bargain-and such a great producer. They store well, they "go" with everything in meals. Love em!!

I voted for tomatoes too!

Thanks for your comment about the sweet tea!

I haven't had a McDonald's sweet tea in 3 weeks! I'm officially out of the habit. They sure are good and I intend to get one now and then, especially in hot weather.

Cucumbers! I can eat them every day!

All this vegetable talk is causing me anxiety, you know.

It's 8 degrees outside and nothing but sad, waxy vegetables available in the store.

Sorry, I've been "missing" for a while. Busy. Crazy.

Tomatoes. Absolutely. LOL Even though tomatoes are available from a local source, they still aren't as good as going right out the door and picking one (or several).

How did I miss this?!!! Where have I been? Oh yeah taxes. Okay so I know the poll is closed but I wanted to respond. You know last year I might have said tomatoes but this year it's either lettuce or onions. It might be onions since I'm going to pop an onion everywhere I can.

Packrat--Glad you stopped by! I always miss your comments when you're not around. Hope things have slowed a bit for you.

Kemi--Taxes. Explains it all, doesn't it? Onions, eh? My favorite is Vidallia. Those babies don't grow up here, though!
